01 · Inspection and test

Every hold point inspected and on the record.

Inspection and test plans set the checks for each job, and inspection records are filed against them. The QA/QC manager sees what was inspected, what passed and what is waiting.

02 · Non-conformance

No non-conformance closes without its corrective action.

NCRs are raised from inspection, receipt or audit, with corrective actions, owners and due dates. Directors see open NCRs by project and supplier, and how long they stay open.

03 · Traceability

Material, welds and instruments, traced and on record.

Material certificates are matched to batches, and receipt is blocked without one. Weld procedures, welder qualifications, the weld log and NDT sit together, and every instrument’s calibration is on the register.

04 · Document control

Only the current revision reaches site.

Procedures, drawings and specifications are reviewed and approved before issue, sent on numbered transmittals, and withdrawn when superseded. Everyone works from the same revision.

Approvals in this module

Documents and decisions reviewed before they count.

How approvals work
  • Document issue

Reviewed and approved before a revision is issued.

  • NCR close-out

Closed by QA/QC once the corrective action is proven.

  • Material release

Released to stock only once inspected and certified.

  • Transmittals

Checked before documents go to a client or supplier.

FAQ

Quality and document control questions

Can we stop superseded drawings reaching site?

Yes. When a new revision is approved and issued, the previous one is withdrawn, and the register shows which revision is current.

Can we receive material without its certificate?

No. Receipt is blocked until the material certificate is matched to the batch, so every item in stock can be traced to its certificate.

Do weld records sit with the job?

Yes. Weld procedures, welder qualifications, the weld log and NDT results are held together for each job, ready for the client’s dossier.
